Challenge:

A Danish engineering company specializing in energy recovery solutions for industrial applications aimed to develop a new OEM line of high-temperature heat pumps, designed for heat recovery processes up to 90°C.
Although backed by a strong internal engineering team, the company faced two key challenges: a lack of reliable manufacturing partners and difficulty sourcing technologies capable of operating efficiently and safely at high temperatures.

Our Approach:

We began by conducting a detailed analysis of the client's technical objectives and performance requirements. Based on this, we launched a targeted supplier scouting initiative across Europe, focusing on manufacturers with proven expertise in:

• High-temperature compressor technology;

• Long-life heat exchangers suitable for demanding industrial environments.

We supported the client throughout the development phase, including:

• Defining the OEM product specifications;

• Selecting the most suitable components and system configurations;

• Facilitating a partnership with a specialized Italian manufacturer equipped with in-house R&D capabilities and the flexibility to customize units for a range of refrigerants, including HFOs and hydrocarbons.

In parallel, we managed the commercial and technical onboarding process between the Danish client and the selected supplier, ensuring alignment on timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.

Result:

In just six months, the client had a fully engineered prototype, complete with cost estimates and a production timeline.
The first two sample units were successfully delivered and installed at a major dairy processing facility in Denmark. Early feedback highlighted excellent system performance, reliability, and ease of integration.
